Campaign electSloan Weekly Update
March 6 2019
Last Week around H-L&A…
Our Super Canvass in Odessa was a success— we knocked on over 300 doors, nearly the whole village! There were a couple of really rewarding moments—I got to meet 12-yr. old Aliyaza, who is very passionate about politics and does her own research. I also knocked on the door of someone who said that in 43 years they had never been approached by a federal or provincial politician!

On Saturday evening several team members attended Loyalist Township's Ducks Unlimited fundraising dinner in Odessa—the place was packed, and everyone was having a great time. This organization is so impressive—they promote sensible environmental policy that improves conditions for waterfowl, wildlife and people. There is also an understanding of and respect for gunowners and hunters. I’m very proud of the “Conserve” in “Conservative”!

I also met with Centre Hastings Mayor Tom Deline. One thing I hear over and over again is that municipalities need stable, predictable funding, which allows them to plan wisely rather than spending their resources competing for funds.

Our presence on social media is growing quickly. Lately, we are seeing a lot of interest in the SNC-Lavalin affair—please follow us to participate in that conversation. Our Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/ElectSloanHLA and you can follow us on Twitter at https://twitter.com/DerekSloanCPC.
This Sunday, March 10, Team electSloan will be canvassing in Sandhurst. New volunteers are always welcome! Please join us from 2:00 to 5:00—we will meet at 2:00 on Sunday at St Paul's Anglican Church in Sandhurst, 7918 Loyalist Parkway (Hwy 33). No experience is necessary; we will give you training on our simple canvassing strategy, and you will be paired up with an experienced campaigner. All are welcome! Email us at info@electSloan.ca if you can join us.
We would also like to announce that our team will be holding a Meet & Greet on Wednesday, March 20 from 2:00 to 4:00 at Napanee's Waterfront Pub. This is a great opportunity for folks in the Greater Napanee area to come out and meet me and my team of volunteers. Please join us!
Join the Victory Club!
To reach our goal of being election-ready, we are launching Victory Club, a program that will go a long way towards reaching our fundraising target and will give us the necessary tools to run a successful campaign. Our target can be reached if only 250 people donate $400. A $400 donation costs you only $100 out-of-pocket after the generous tax credit! We recently had a husband and wife donate $400 each--$800 for the campaign and only $200 out-of-pocket for them! Watch your inbox and Facebook for more details. See below for donation info.
As always, we are grateful for your support for this Campaign and we will keep working together to spread our positive Conservative vision for Canada and for Hastings—Lennox & Addington. Donations of any amount are always welcome: When you give to our local Conservative association (up to the 2019 max. of $1600), that money stays right here in HLA, and up to 75% of your donation could be eligible for a tax credit on your 2019 tax return. We can accept donations from Canadian individuals only (not from corporations or businesses). Cheques should be made payable to H-L&A Conservative Association and sent to PO Box 111, Madoc, Ontario, K0K 2K0. We cannot accept cash or credit card information through the mail; however, you can donate online at: www.hlaconservative.ca/donate.
